It’s time to bid goodbye to SABTV’s Yam Hain Hum (Swastik Productions).

The show is set to go off air on 18 January, thus making place for Optimystix’s Woh Teri Bhabhi Hai Paglestarring Ali Asgar, Ather Habib and Krishna Gokani.

Like most of the shows even Yam Hain Hum will end on a happy note.

According to the plot, Brahma will call Yam and his family back to yamlok from earth.

Debina Bonnerjee who played the role of Yam’s wife Dhumorna, shared, “Shooting for Yam Hain Hum was a wonderful experience. It is one of the most beautiful shows that I have ever worked. The last day of shoot brought tears to my eyes. Since six months I have got attachment with the show and I will miss

each and every moment of mine on sets.”

After redefining the youth entertainment on Indian television in the recent past with fiction shows like Sadda Haq, Dil Dosti Dance and Swim Team, Channel V is now all set to launch 2 new shows exclusively for the youth. Upcoming launches on 18^th & 19^th January include two brand new shows – ‘Mastaangi’ and Season 2 of the highly successful show ‘Sadda Haq.’ The launches are backed by high decibel 360 degree marketing promotions across key markets and platforms, targeting the core audience.

Sadda Haq – S2 (Mon-Sat 6:30 pm) is set in a space research centre, a setup that has never been showcased on Indian television, where the lead female protagonist, Sanyukta, is a scientist working on Mission Mars 2020. The show retains the fundamental essence of Season 1[a girl in a man’s world] while taking the scale a notch higher.

Mastaangi (Mon–Sat 6:00 pm) is an interesting love story which transcends two lifetimes. Set on the backdrop of a college, this love story is unique. The lead protagonists’ were soul mates in the past life but their love story comes to a tragic end with both of them dying an untimely death. They meet again in a new life only to uncover the mystery of their past life and rekindle their love once again.

Apart from these new shows Channel V’s teen crime show ‘Gumrah’: End of Innocence (Sunday 7pm) and sports based romantic drama ‘Swim Team’ (Mon-Fri 7 Pm) continue to be on air. All the new and current shows are available anytime on hotstar.

There are few more shows in the pipeline which are slated for launch in February and March 2016.

Actor Kiku Sharda, known for his comic role in popular TV show “Comedy Nights with Kapil“, was on Wednesday arrested, granted bail, released and arrested again for the same offence by Haryana Police.

Booked and arrested by Haryana Police following a complaint that he spoofed controversial godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh of Dera Sacha Sauda sect, Kiku was sent to 14 days judicial custody on Wednesday by a court in Haryana’s Kaithal town, hours after his arrest in Mumbai.

The actor was on Wednesday evening released on a surety bond of Rs.1 lakh by the Kaithal court and his release was ordered.

However, he was arrested again by Haryana Police, this time from Fatehabad district (near Hisar), for the same offence.

He is likely to be produced in the Fatehabad court on Thursday.

“I was busy shooting OnlineGurukul; just got to know, devotees are hurt due to Kiku’s action. If he has apologized, no complaint from my side,” Gurmeet Ram Rahim tweeted on Wednesday evening.

A Haryana Police officer said: “He (Kiku) was booked for hurting the religious sentiments of the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda sect. There were two complaints, one in Kaithal and another in Fatehabad, against him.”

The complaints was filed against Kiku by followers of the sect, the officer said.

Kiku and eight others involved with the show “Jashn-E-Ummeed” were booked by Haryana Police on January 1 on charges of outraging religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious belief under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Kiku was arrested by a Haryana Police team while he was shooting for another show in Mumbai early on Wednesday.

He was brought to Kaithal town in Haryana, 135 km from here, on Wednesday by police and produced before a court which sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

Kiku was accused by sect follower Uday Singh of dressing up like Gurmeet Ram Rahim and mimicking the self-proclaimed godman.

“In the show (‘Jashn-E-Ummeed’), he (Kiku) was shown dressed up like our respected guruji. He was shown with liquor and dancing with two girls. He did a mockery of guruji. Whosoever saw it, their feelings were hurt,” Uday Singh told media persons.

The show, in which Kiku dressed up like the sect chief, was aired on December 27.

The actor had apologised, saying he never intended to hurt anyone.

He said he had only acted and dressed up as per the script of the show.

“Friends, the act was not to hurt anyone’s feelings. My apologies to Gurmeet Ram Rahim ji and his followers. Let’s spread happiness,” Kiku had tweeted after the complaint was filed against him.

The attire and presentation of Kiku on that show resembled the dress, including a colourful cap, that the godman had worn in his own film recently.

The godman had himself acted in two films — “MSG: The Messenger” and “MSG 2 – The Messenger” — last year. Both films were the home production of the godman and his sect.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday refused to be drawn into the controversy.

“The government has no role. A complaint was filed with the police and action followed. The police will act as per law,” Khattar said here.

“It is a thing of law and order. Somebody has lodged an FIR. Police will take action as per law. But we want to assure you that no one will be victimised unnecessarily,” Khattar said.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha member and actor-comedian Bhagwant Mann told media persons that not much should be read into the whole issue.

“The aim of the artistes is to entertain. They do mimicry of big artistes. I don’t think there was any need to arrest him (Kiku). I am very surprised (that this happened),” Mann said.

Kapil Sharma, who shares the screen space with Kiku on “Comedy Nights With Kapil“, tweeted: “I have an humble request to Sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singhji ‘Insaan’ that he should come forward before the media and stand in favour of an artist, who is trying to entertain and spread happiness, and set a beautiful example of humanity. Let’s come and work towards peace and happiness.”

The sect chief had found himself in the midst of a major controversy in May 2007 when he was accused of hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikhs and booked by Punjab Police.

Sikh organisations had accused Gurmeet Ram Rahim of wearing an attire in an advertisement, resembling 10th Sikh guru Gobind Singh.

The controversy led to violent clashes between Sikhs and sect followers, particularly in southwest Punjab.

The sect chief was booked by Punjab Police for hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community.

It seems that problems will never stay away from the lives of Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi) and Raman (Karan Patel) in Star Plus’ Yeh Hai Mohabbatein (Balaji Telefilms).

Well, talented actress Sanghamitra Talukdar, who was earlier seen in the serial Hoyto Tomari Jonno, is playing Durga.

Now coming to the plot, the story of ‘Aamar Durga’ mirrors a journey, where a sweet, soft spoken girl belonging to a simple lower middle class Muffisal family raises her voice against the atrocities of a power driven world.

In the backdrop, there would be a father, a Librarian whose world revolves around books, a mother whose happiness is derived from cutting her sarees to sew clothes for her daughters. Their needs are few and their happiness unbound in their quite ancestral home in the suburbs. But destiny is such that their only possession – the roof above their head and the land beneath their feet they own, would come under the hawk eyes. And thus, Durga would turn from the simple young daughter to the one who would take up the journey to counter the evil.

Sanghamitra, who is excited to play Durga, said, “I am playing a college student who later becomes the representative of people. I am happy to play this role as I am very much similar to my onscreen character.”

The other cast of the serial include Ritajit, Sumantro Mukhrjee, Kushal Chakraborty, Nandini Chatterjee and Maitreyee to name a few.

Star Plus’ popular show, Suhani Si Ek Ladki (Panorama Entertainment) has been seeing court room drama at its best, with Gauri (Ekroop Bedi) charging Suhani’s father Pankaj of molesting her.

However, the case has been taking interesting turns, with Krishna (Ankur Verma) coming under the spotlight as the probable suspect. However, with Krishna now being proven as innocent, the case will take a new shift in the coming days.

As per a source, “Gauri would be asked by the lawyer to identify the culprit, by setting up an ambience similar to that in her house. A dim light would be put up, with five men standing at a distance wearing the same kind of shirt. And the lawyer will ask Gauri to point out at the culprit. And there will come a shocker when Gauri will show her finger at one person.”

We hear that Aditya (Vikas Grover) will come under the radar, with Gauri pointing towards him. And when the light will be put on, Gauri herself will be shocked and scared to have shown her husband as the culprit.

However, this will bring about a new angle to the case, wherein atleast few in the family will start to wonder whether Aditya is the culprit.

Not too many sitcoms really last the distance, like How I Met Your Mother has done.  What do you think kept it going to new levels of success?

A lot of elements… but first and most important, the writing.  From the pilot script alone, it stood out; was the best I had read.  It had heart, was funny, was fresh with the whole way they play with the time element and the flashbacks and everything.  It just seemed different and special. Then you add the cast and we all just had that sort of, something you can’t explain, it’s just great chemistry that was there from the get-go. Every element sort of came together in the right way and we felt it while it was happening, too. Luckily everything aligned and here we still are. But I wish I did sort of know what the secret was, because I’d be a very powerful Hollywood exec. (Laughter)

Do you have much input into the direction of the Lily character, or is it sort of ‘let the writers have a really good take on it and the script’; how does that work?

I’ve always been one to say, hey it’s not my job.  If there’s something that I think is really not Lily, I would stand up for her. But I don’t feel like it’s my job to go in and sort of pitch things because I’m not a writer, and they are. And they’re fabulous. They do such a great job, so I’m not going to, my ideas would be ridiculous anyway. “She should eat more cupcakes in this season!” I’d just be silly.

The Lily and Marshall chemistry is great. And you’re very good friends. Is that important?

It is. Obviously as an actor you have to do it regardless, but it’s really nice to do it with someone you like. And Jason and I work really well together and we just enjoy it so much, it really helps make it so much easier, so I’m very grateful for that.

What’s it like to play a very common family on TV?

It just seems real to me. My husband and I don’t have any family that lives out here, so that’s exactly how it is. The thing I don’t relate to is the big family there; it seems so lovely but that’s not my world. That’s not how I was raised. I was the only child too, so my friends have always been my family.

Over the 200 episodes do you have a favorite Lily episode or a highlight for your character?

It all seems like one episode to me. My memory goes in moments so I couldn’t tell you what the show was about, but that moment at the airport when the orchestra comes in; that’s forever in my heart. I was pregnant at the time to so I was highly emotional and then just to be surrounded… it was so lovely!

Satyana (Alyson’s  daughter) is growing up…  So how are you balancing motherhood out with working on the show?

It’s wonderful; I couldn’t be happier! The people on the show are so supportive. I get to bring her to work every day and I have a nursery set up. My husband comes with us and it just couldn’t be a better environment as far as being a working mom. But it is hard to balance, if we have a long day. They have to go home before I do, and I don’t get to put her in bed. It’s heartbreaking. Luckily that only happens every once and a while.

Aparna shared, “My first car was always a big dream for me. I remember every single thing about my first car, as I had dreamt about it for years. Honestly speaking, I took almost a year to decide my first car. Initially, I was confused about buying a vehicle as I was not sure whether I could afford it or not. I had even planned to buy a second hand model, which I eventually dropped.”

Aparna went on to add, “Finally, when I got the first selection call from the production team of Kalash for the role of Devika, I immediately booked the car. So now I own a dark maroon coloured Honda Amaze. Moreover, on the first day of my shoot, I went to the sets in my own car.”

So, who got the first ride with you? Aparna quipped, “I went for a drive with Puru and Vibha (Chibber) aunty, as she is like a mother to me. We went for lunch as well. It was really special for me.”

Firstly, talking about the responsibilities she holds as the owner of the team, Nivedita said, “My basic responsibility is to raise funds for my team. I have a good set of actors in my team and I have to keep them happy. Our goal is to stay smiling, and win the championship.”

On the goals set for the event this year, the lady with a smile averred, “My vision is to make my team popular. I want Kolkata Babu Moshayes to be passionate about the game. All the actors in my team are friends, and I don’t want any bad air to flow in. Cricket is a game of eleven people and I have twenty five people in my team. So we should work together and make the team win, is what I will say.”

Talking about BCL being aired on Colors, Nivedita quipped, “I am glad that BCL will be aired on Colors. I have known Manisha (who heads non-fiction) for years, and believe that the channel will do everything possible to make the show popular. I am very confident of the visibility increasing on Colors. The show will get much bigger on Colors.

On her love for the game of cricket, Nivedita shared, “Cricket has been an integral part of our house. Both my mom and dad were very fond of the game. In fact, my mother used to even follow the local league games. I was a sports captain in my school, but never played cricket professionally. You never know, the love for the game can make me play the game too now…

Going ahead, talking about her all-time favourite cricketers, the lady quoted, “Sachin Tendulkar is my favourite cricketer. He is a very cool guy, who had a humble beginning and gained enormous popularity through his achievements.”

It is not uncommon for the hero and his lady-love to part ways in daily soaps. But the one show which has taken this theme way too seriously happens to be Life OK’s daily drama Kalash (Balaji Telefilms).

Till now, we have seen Ravi (Krrip Suri) making all the efforts to convince Devika (Aparna Dixit) that his love for his wife is genuine. Now, tables till turn, and while Devika will be the one trying to resolve things, Ravi will keep a distance from his wife.

Yes, after saving Ravi from Saket’s (Mahesh Shetty) evil intentions, Devika will shower all her love over Ravi.

Prince pulls her leg by over the fact that Mandana is being way too excited about the finale. Rochelle interrupts and jokingly takes a dig at Mandana by saying that she is counting days only because she does not know all the alphabets.

In the afternoon, renowned tarot card reader Monica Badnani visits the Bigg Boss house to predict the future and provide some insight to the contestants. She gives them advice about their career and personal life. She tells Prince to focus on his career and not on the relationships made inside the house because they might not last for longer time. She tells Rishabh to stop being too moody while brings a smile to Keith’s face by assuring him prosperity in 2016. Rochelle is advised to keep her stress at bay and live in the moment. Mandana appears concerned after Monica tells her that issues might arise in her love life. Bigg Boss makes a secret request to Monica to predict the winner of the show and the predicted name is Mandana Karimi!

Mandana seems to be a bit disturbed after the tarot card reader leaves the house. Rochelle and Keith try to cheer her up by telling her to have faith in herself and ignore everything else. In the evening, Rishabh attempts to flirt with Rochelle while Keith watches over. The day comes to an end on a regular note only to shock the housemates in the middle of the night.  A surprise mid-week eviction awaits the contestants in the wee hours of the night.

And all will start with Ranjana (Ginni Virdi) deciding to kill her own husband Manohar (Moni Rai)..

As per a credible source, “Ranjana will plan the accidental death of Manohar. The vehicle in which Manohar will be going will run down the cliff, resulting in Manohar’s death.”

The maha-movies on Life OK’s popular show, Savdhan India create a lot of awareness in the masses, and bring about soul-stirring subjects.

Now, Sachin Mohite’s Jaasvand Entertainment which recently completed its two years run, will be producing a special Savdhan India Maha Movie which will be telecast on 26 January, that is on the Republic Day.

The best part of this story will be that the anchor on the show, Sushant Singh will get to don a new avatar. For a change, Sushant will get into his acting shoes, and will play the lead in the story.

The story which will revolve around an army captain, played by Sushant will get back home, and find out that a builder is harassing his chawl members as he would want them to relocate, so that he would redevelop the place for a better earning. However, the case will get tough for the man to handle, when he will get to know that his own younger brother is involved in it. The story will then focus on the man’s struggle to save his chawl people and also his own brother from the mastermind.

While Sushant will play the lead, noted actor Waquar Sheikh will play the negative lead, that of the business man in the story.

Yet another interesting aspect of the Maha Movie will be that it will be anchored by Akshay Kumar and Nimrit Kaur. The duo will be seen promoting their flick Airlift on Savdhan India.

It’s been quite an entertaining phase for the loyal viewers of Director’s Kut Productions’ long-running show,Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus.

Well, things will seem hunky-dory for one and all with Akshara (Hina Khan) forgiving Sangram (Amal Sehrawat) of his mistakes, after he will help her win the car race for the blind.

However, not all will be perfectly well, as Akshara will have to face a new challenge, that of convincing her hot-blooded son Naksh (Rohan Mehra) by driving facts into his head.

To tell you more, the story line will see a further twist when Naksh will not be able to forgive Sangram for his misdeeds. And upon knowing the fact that Tara (Umang Jain) always knew of her brother’s involvement, Naksh will grow wild at the girl.

As per credible sources, “Naksh’s anger will reach a crescendo where he will confront Sangram, by holding his collar. Also, he would be shattered to know that Tara would have kept him unaware of the fact. Will Akshara be able to unite the young lovers?

Young lad Kunal Khosla is elated on joining the illustrious cast of the popular show, Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus.

Ask him whether he initially had a nervous energy on the set, and he is quick to say, “Unusually no!! I am pretty surprised at the way I have carried myself on the set. Ofcourse, there was an initial apprehension of having to perform in front of such senior actors in the show. However, when I set foot, I was very much at ease. I feel it very unusual, but that’s the fact.”

Talking about his character Aaryan aka Chhotu on the show, the actor speaks, “Aaryan is a multi-layered character, who has a different set of equation with people in the house. His relationship with Sandhya, Sooraj, Bhabho and others are so very different. And this makes it all the more challenging for me. I am enjoying playing this role, and the best part is that I have received immense co-operation from all in the team.”

Kunal has been seen earlier in shows Jodha Akbar and Boys. But this Shashi Sumeet show has given him a huge break in career. “Of course this is a huge break, no doubt. Initially when I got a call about being selected, I could not believe it. And when the feeling got into me, I was jubilant. When I had my first meeting with Sumeet Sir, I really understood why this show has been doing so very well even after years. He was so cordial and friendly, that I felt honored to be speaking to him. The show has an amazing team. And I can vouch for the fact that the co-operative nature and healthy work ethics that the team follows is one of the reasons for the show’s popularity.”

On the present track, Kunal states, “Well, all would have seen how madly Aryan is in love with Piya (Nalini Negi). However, he is still not aware of her real intentions. Soon viewers will see him realize that, and that will bring in a new twist in Aryan’s life.”

Ask Kunal whether this new track will add another flavour into the show, and he avers, “Yes, this fresh love track will indeed bring in the youth quotient. Youngsters in the age group of 20s will want to follow the show more eagerly. And I hope that this brings in fresh viewership and more TRPs too (smiles).”

Kunal who is all geared up for the new love story to blossom says, “The Aryan-Aarzoo love story will be something beautiful to watch. I hope viewers look forward to it in the near future.”

Kunal and Prachi Tehlan have not yet shot together for the show. However, the guy is very much impressed with Prachi’s confidence level. “We have met lot many times during the look test. However, at that point of time we did not know that we were going to get selected. I must say, Prachi’s confidence is commendable. Being a sports person, she is high in confidence. If you look at her, you will never believe that she’s doing all this for the very first time. She’s truly amazing. And she is putting in quite a lot of hard work. We have become very good friends now, and look forward to shooting together.”

Infidelity raises substantial questions. Everybody is aware of the fact that one step towards this vicious circle can destroy the primary relationship, but still some people go ahead with it… But why?

Tellychakkar.com caught up with few Bengali actors of Television to know about their opinion on infidelity. We also asked them how they would react if their partners cheated on them and would they ever give a second chance to their partners. Take a look:

Mallika Ghosh:
Some people indulge in infidelity because of their nature. It’s not a big deal for them. There are others who enter into infidelity because of lack of emotional satisfaction in their relationships. It’s natural for a person to expect care from her/his partner but if he/she is not getting it, the person starts seeking it somewhere else. If my partner cheats on me, I will leave him there and then. But if I am married and have a kid, my step would be different. Divorce is a difficult method. The kids are the main sufferers of such consequences. So, I will continue the relationship because of my child and the social bindings but will never forgive him.

Debottam Majumder:
I think people indulge in infidelity probably when wavelength ceases to match. If I am cheated upon, I will be furious but then will definitely try to find out why they chose someone over me. And if at all she asks for a second chance…yes, I will give her.

Nayana Palit:
I guess when someone has commitment issues or is not happy with the partner, he/she indulges in infidelity. If my partner ever cheats on me, I will lose faith and would never be able to trust another human being. I will never be able to give a second chance because I can never forget or forgive.

Sweta Bhattacharya:
I think too much possessiveness in a relationship leads to such disastrous consequence. I also feel that there is a problem with a particular section of our generation who are more into the physical thing. They desire for additional sexual encounters so do not think twice before cheating on their partners. I have been in a relationship for the past three years and I cannot imagine my life without him. I trust him a lot. If he ever cheats on me…I think I will give him a second chance no matter how bad I feel because I am very emotional.

Pratyush Banerjee:
I have given a second chance many a times. I think I will react as per the gravity of the act committed by my partner. If my partner has not done anything extreme, I will forgive her. I believe life is all about second chances. I also believe that before jumping to a conclusion one should try to know why and where things went wrong.
